Privacy Policy
MTW is a free, independent, algorithm-free music sanctuary. We collect as little as possible, we never sell your data, and we never build advertising profiles. This page explains in plain language what we keep, why we keep it, and how to have it removed.

In short
No advertising, no data selling, no behavioural profiling — ever.
We keep your email and display name so you can sign in, plus anonymous listening figures.
You can delete your account, and your personal data with it, whenever you want.
01Who we are and what this covers
MTW (“we”, “us”, “our”) runs the Service at mtw.ae: a 24/7 underground music stream, a community space and the AURA sound sanctuary. This policy covers everything you do there — listening, signing in, chatting, leaving a note, saving a session or buying from the shop. Using MTW means accepting the practices described on this page.
02What we collect
—Account: your email address and display name, taken from your sign-in or entered when you register. Used only to identify your account and show your name next to your contributions.
—Listening metrics: device type, browser, operating system, an approximate location derived from your IP address (country and city), the pages you visit, and how long a session lasts.
—Community content: the messages, notes, planets, comments and saved sessions you choose to post, together with the display name attached to them.
—Shop orders: what you ordered, the amount and your email. Card details go to our payment provider — we never see or store your card number.
—Technical data: IP address, connection metadata and standard server logs, kept to run the stream and block abuse.
—Private messages: messages sent through Sonic Messenger are encrypted before they leave your device, and may be destroyed automatically once they have been read.
03Why we use it
—To run the Service: play the stream, keep your session alive, remember what you saved and let your community features work.
—To produce anonymous, aggregate listener figures — how many people are listening, from which countries, at which hours. These figures are never tied back to your name.
—To send the notifications you asked for: live streams, replies, community news. Every one of them can be switched off in your profile settings.
—To keep the space safe and working: detecting abuse, spam, fraud and technical failures.
—To process and deliver shop orders and answer you when you contact us.
04Sign-in, payments and third parties
A few parts of MTW rely on trusted external providers, and only on what they need to do their job:
—Google Sign-In: shares your email address and basic profile details with us so we can recognise your account.
—Stripe: handles shop payments directly. Card data never reaches our servers.
—Audio hosts: our stream is delivered through third-party audio infrastructure.
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information. There is no advertising network and no third-party tracking on MTW.
05Anonymous listener metrics
Listening data is what tells us whether the stream is healthy and how the sanctuary is growing. It is used in aggregate form only: totals and trends, never a profile of an individual listener. Individual session records exist to build those figures and are then aggregated or deleted. They are not used to target content at you and never leave us for advertising purposes.
06How long we keep it
Listening metrics are kept only as long as they are needed to build reports, then aggregated or deleted. Community content stays until you remove it or ask us to. Your account stays until you delete it — you can do that at any time from your profile page, and it removes your personal data from our systems. Private messages may disappear on their own once they have been read.
07Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
—Know what personal data we hold about you, and receive a copy of it.
—Have inaccurate data corrected.
—Have your data — or your whole account — deleted.
—Switch off optional notifications at any time.
—Withdraw consent for data processing where consent is what allows it.
To exercise any of these, write to us through the Support page in the app. We answer as quickly as we can.
08Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data: encrypted messaging for private conversations, role-based access for administrative tools, and least-privilege access to our systems. No transmission over the internet is ever 100% secure, so we cannot promise absolute security — but we keep the surface as small as we can.
09Children
MTW is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has given us personal data, contact us through the Support page and we will delete it.
10Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the new version appears on this page with a fresh date at the top, and significant changes are announced in the app. Continuing to use MTW after an update means you accept the revised policy.
11Contact
